If you know the Israeli scene you'll recognize the names signed below. These are the highest, most respected voices in Torah Judaism today. And they're all calling for the same thing. The Annoucement
of the Israeli Gedolim

This street poster calls for the population to increase their efforts in prayer, and in the saying of Tehillim. It says a lot more than that too (can you read the Hebrew yet?)

Four sections are hi-lighted:

  1. For the nation of Klal Yisrael (the Jews) we have only Tefilla (prayer).

  2. Through Tefilla we are able to penetrate whatever separate us from our Father in Heaven (that's God), even if the separations would be as tough as metal.

  3. It is upon us now to increase our Tachanunim (earnest and humble requests before God that he forgive our shortcomings and help us proceed ahead in constructive ways), and our recitation of Tehillim (those are the psalms of King David)

  4. We need to recite Tehillim in the Tzibur (generally large groups of people who may or may not know each other) and in Chaburot (generally smaller groups of people who gather regularly)
