Do You
Really Believe?

Binyamin is a 32 year old autistic student who cannot speak and needs help for most of his daily life. Through "Facilitated Communication" it is possible to reach the higher parts of the soul of a handicapped person and in this way we are able to receive messages from higher aspects of this world.

I am very, very sad about Am Yisroel, particularly in America. My heart breaks over my dear brethren in the United States, the non-frum, the frum and their leaders who say: "True, we must do teshuva and we must learn and we must do chesed, but more than anything else, right now we must write letters to our congressmen, to our president saying: We back Israel in its fight against the Arabs and you must back it also".

When I hear that important Jewish people are saying these words, my heart breaks. And this only emphasizes the way the American frum community has deteriorated in its Yiddishkeit, in its emunah, in its bitachon, in its love of Hashem.

Hashem is the One Who created the world and Who has created each of us and Who is the Master of the world. The only One that can save us. The only One that can bring the Geula. Unfortunately not all of the Jews in America, the so-called "believing" Jews, really believe this. And unfortunately not all are really waiting for the Moshiach.

If The Shofar were to blow this instant announcing his arrival, I feel that most of the frum Yidden would ignore it and go about their business as usual. Even with the appearance of Eliyahu Hanavi, most people would look with skepticism and go about their business hoping it would all just go away, so that they could continue their lives - the gashmiusdik pseudo-religious life that most frum Americans lead.

The Jews who would pay attention and would begin to think that maybe this is the beginning of the Geula, these few would go to ask "Is it time?" Maybe some rabbonim would say, "Yes, maybe yes, maybe it is." And others would say "Don't rush. Let's wait and see. We have time".

And what would they have to give up for Moshiach? They would have to give up the way they live, their work, even their chesed, their houses, their shopping centers, everything that brings them pleasure. They would have to go to the unknown, just because Hakodesh Baruch Hu said so. Of course they wouldn't be willing to give it all up without questioning if it is true or not. But even if all the signs were given, still I am sure that at this moment American Jewry, the religious American Jewry, would not heed the call.

Now the time is very close. And world events are closing in on us. The Geula will come easily if we all throw away our gashmius and cling to the Truth, the Emes. Cling to Hakodesh Baruch Hu, to Hashem. Only those who hold on tightly to the Truth, only they will be flexible enough to hear The Shofar, perceive the Truth, grab what they need, and go to Eretz Yisroel. Only the truthful will be able to exist in a world that is all Truth.

How to survive? It says that at the end of time, Hakodesh Baruch Hu will hold on to the end of a rope and we will be holding on to the other end. He will shake us and shake us and shake us. Those that will become confused will weaken and let go of the rope, chas veshalom (G-d forbid). But those that stubbornly hold on will have eternal life and great salvation.

How do you hold on to the rope with such confusion around? By closing your eyes when the difficulties get very great and saying over and over and over the Thirteen Principles of Faith. And then over and over and over to say "Hashem Hu HaElokim", and hold on with great stubbornness, with great emunah and bitachon. Know that Hakodesh Baruch Hu is the All-Powerful. Just hold on until the storm subsides, and the sun comes out and the birds sing, and Moshiach is crowned.

Until that moment comes, Am Yisroel, throw away your idols - your designer dresses, your designer sheitels, your fancy cars, your expensive weddings, your bombastic simchas, your fancy homes, your luxurious trips. Get together to daven, to say Tehillim and to beg Hashem to save us all.

Your congressman cannot help you, your president cannot help you, your governor cannot help you. Your salvation will not come from the Israel Defense Force, or from the prime minister of Israel. Only one Koach, only one Power exists, that can save us, and that is the Master of the Universe and beyond - Hakodesh Baruch Hu.
