Time is ending. The Twin Towers, the great symbols and center of gashmius (the reliance and faith that physical things will bring security), universal gashmius, have crumbled into the earth, and with them other giant buildings which stood like soldiers next to the two royal edifices. All are now dust and twisted iron.
But what have we learned from this? What have we gained from this? What insight have we attained from this? American forces are poised for war, ready to attack Afghanistan at any moment, maybe to plunge the world into a global war. Stock markets all over the world are plunging. People are afraid to leave their homes. Gas masks are being bought in the United States.
All over the Western World fear reigns. The fear of an unknown army of terrorists who have no real identity, an unknown enemy with no face, only one face known to the world - Bin Laden. But how can a whole army fight against one man? How could the whole Western World be afraid of one man? So what have we really learned from all of this?
I will explain what you should be learning from all of this: HaKadosh Baruch Hu (The Holy One, blessed be He) is destroying the lie, the false world we've been living in, the excessive, decadent gashmius (reliance on physical things for pleasure and security) that has become our god. God is destroying the false beliefs that security lies in the army, social security, the great insurance companies, a steady job and a big bank account.
God is systematically destroying all of our illusions. And He has only just begun. This great war against the Yetzer HaRah (the lowest of human/animal impulses), the lie, has become evident to many. Even if now, and today is the 24th of September, there is still what could be called a lull in this dangerous situation, still, know that these breaks are to allow the Jewish nation to do Teshuva (a sincere taking-stock of one's existence and a complete re-dedication to Godliness).
When Mitzrayim (bibical Egypt) worshipped the Egel Hazahav, the lie, it made little difference in the world. But if the Yidden (Jews) worship the Egel Hazahav, the lie, then only disaster can befall the world, including the Jews.
So, my dear Am Yisrael, if you want to save yourselves and the world, renounce the Egel Hazahav, its lies, its illusion, and come back wholly to your Father in Heaven. Destroy your false gods and come back!
But you will read what I say and claim that you give so much tzedaka and you daven (pray) every day and you support your sons-in-law in learning and you learn yourself and you're a talmid chacham and all of your children are frum chareidim and your wife says Tehillim and you celebrate all the chagim (Jewish holy days) and Shabbos and keep Taharas Hamishpacha (Laws of family purity) and do all the Mitzvos. So what are we doing wrong?
Fools! Fools! What can I say? You are either blind or not intelligent. Don't you see that except for the few genuine Tzaddikim (pious, Torah-observant men) and Tzidkonios (women), the rest of you are not Leshem Shamayim (putting God's desires over their personal desires). You learn for kavod (personal honor), give Tzedaka so your businesses will continue to prosper (giving charity to "bribe" God into keeping problems away), keep the mitzvos more by rote than with your heart, daven without making connection with HaKadosh Baruch Hu and learn Torah also without HaKadosh Baruch Hu. Overall, your lives are built around gashmius, kavod, desire for position and power. And all this leads to machlokes (conflict and disagreement) and sinas chinam (baseless hatred).
When will you learn? You're not frightened enough. Your hearts are not broken enough. A great selection has already begun. Each Jew, each Gentile, each living thing, will choose a side. Either with man, trusting in man himself, or with God, trusting only in Him.
It will be a terrible battle, a very, very torturous fight, but those who hold on to their trust, their love and their belief in God will, with God's help, greet Moshiach (the Messiah).
This letter is for every Jew, religious or not. This is the message. This is the truth. A letter from Heaven to tell you explicitly what is expected of you. I bless you all, every single Jew alive today, man, woman, of every age, that all of us together will merit to greet the Moshiach, speedily in our days. Amen.
